Belly Dance Workshop - March 4, 2011

Hello Dancers,

The first Sat. of March is just one week away on March 4th!  Since there has been a lot of snow and issues with power outages, and more weather is on the way, we will just see how this week goes.  Power outage and or snow on the roads in Colfax will cancel.

For now, I’ll plan to start at 10:15am, after the Zumba class.  Location is Studio Z at Sierra Vista Community Center, 55 School Street, Colfax, CA.  The cost for the workshop is $10.  I’m planning to repeat February’s workshop with the drum choreography and veil, because we had so much FUN!!

Since I’m starting to see a real range of beginner students to more practiced ones, I will gearing the workshop for beginners 10:15 to 11am, and then working on more advanced moves and choreography in the 11-Noon hour.  If you decide to come just for the second half, please make sure you give your body a little warm-up before joining in.  If you are a beginner and decide to stay for the 2nd half, make sure you listen to your body and modify moves as much as you need =)

Cheers,

Aseela

Belly Dance at Studio Z

Hello Dancers,

We had some fun with a drum solo routine and veil last Sat., and since there was some date confusion, I’m thinking of a repeat for the 1st Sat. in March.  So bring your veils and some good wiggle in your hips on Sat. Don’t forget that the biggest Belly Dance Festival of the West is coming to Richmond; Rakkasah is March 11-13, 2011.

Jan. 15th Belly Dance Workshop

Hello Dancers,

Happy New Year!!  Are you ready to shimmy those hips??!!  My next Belly Dance workshop is Sat. Jan. 15th at 10:15am, after Zumba class, at Studio Z.  Studio Z is located in the Sierra Vista Community Center at 55 School Street, Colfax.  The room is in the back near the baseball field.

We’ll review the basic moves from the last class, work on the choreography, and play with the zills (finger cymbals) and veil!  I have some zills and veils for borrowing, but please bring your own, if you have them.  The best material for veils is 3 yards of tissue lame.  Remember to wear comfortable clothing and bring DRY SOCKS or Hermes sandals for ease of moving your feet on the floor.

Cheers,

Aseela
