Belly Dance Workshop - Sat. April 2, 2011

Hello Dancers,

 

It’s time for our 1^st Sat. of the month workshop this weekend!  We’ll start at 10:15am, after the Zumba class.  Location is Studio Z at Sierra Vista Community Center, 55 School Street, Colfax, CA.  The cost for the workshop is $10.

 

Since I’m starting to see a real range of ability from beginner students to more practiced ones, I will be gearing the first half to beginners (10:15 to 11am), and then working on more advanced moves and choreography in the 11-Noon hour.  If you decide to come just for the second half, please make sure you give your body a little warm-up before joining in.  If you are a beginner and decide to stay for the 2^nd half, make sure you listen to your body and modify moves as much as you need =)

Good place to go dancing?!

Hello Dancers,

 

I really want to go out dancing for my birthday on Friday April 1^st, but I need some ideas about good places.  I don’t want to feel out of place in a room full of twenty-somethings when I’m turning 42!  Please let me know if you know of some good spots.  Could be club dance or a belly dance kind of place!

 

Also, I hope you all will come and dance with me!!

Updated "Tabla Solo 1" Choreography

Hello Dancers,

 

We worked on the drum solo in workshop today, and I discovered a couple of mistakes in the written choreography I sent out.  After line 12, there is a 4^th set of the hip slides; L-R-L, quick pelvic lock.  And after line 18 there is another set of the body waves with chest and pelvic locks on each end.  The chest lock is first, and on the first set we face the right diagonal, second set we face the left diagonal.  You can edit your sheet or print a new one from the attachment.

 

Next workshop is scheduled for Sat. April 2^nd, 2011!
